Clinical Supervision

Learn about my approach:

I am a licensed mental health counselor with diagnostic privilege in NY. My supervisory approach integrates the Supervisory Matrix Centered (Relational Psychodynamic) model of supervision with the principles and practice of Somatic Experiencing®. In working toward learning goals in supervision, I am an embedded participant. As a supervisor, I bring vulnerability, commitment to growth and knowledge both generated and passed down to me through important teaching relationships along my journey as a therapist. Although I have a specific expertise, my approach emphasizes relational mutuality, acknowledging asymmetries and negotiating how power is shared, recognizing the subjective nature of truth and the value of being with direct experience as a component of change and transformation. As such, supervision is a relational experience where events occurring with the supervisory space are given significant attention as potential avenues for generating insight, safely enhancing capacity, and fostering learning. As an trauma therapist, I often work with supervisees to improve their ability to hold client's traumatic experiences without being traumatized and through the supervisory process cultivate both faith in the healing power of the therapeutic relationship and confidence in the supervisee themselves.  I am deeply grateful for my experiences supervising others, and I am proud to be able to offer this service to you.
